With his hair scraped back off his forehead, he rocked his signature bronze glow while carrying brown paper bag in one hand.
The hoax about his death circulated online this weekend after a fake news story - allegedly from US news site CNN - was being shared on Facebook.
Fans were confused by the hoax, as one wrote: 'Is Sylvester Stallone dead or it was just a hoax? #StalloneDead?'
This year has been featured a particularly high number of celebrity deaths, with Alan Rickman and David Bowie among several to pass away.
But there have also been an unusually high number of death hoaxes sweeping the web with Michael Schumacher and Sir Paul McCartney among the victims.
Earlier in the year Sylvester lost out on a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in Creed, despite being the odds-on favourite to win.
A spin-off and sequel to the Rocky film series, the film saw Sylvester reprise his role of Rocky Balboa, while Michael portrayed Adonis Creed, a character who abandons his stable white collar job to pursue a boxing career under Rocky's tutelage.
